PSYCHOLOGIST SURRENDERS LICENSE TO PSYCHOLOGY BOARD

Palos Verdes Woman Accused of Multiple Violations, Including Sexual Misconduct with Patient
SACRAMENTO, Calif.–Tammy H. Ichinotsubo-Ezzi, Ph.D. of Rancho Palos Verdes, has surrendered her license #PSY14761 to the California Board of Psychology (Board). Ichinotsubo-Ezzi was accused of multiple extreme departures from the standard of care and practice in the profession of psychology. The Board filed an accusation seeking the revocation or suspension of her license in April 2020.
The accusation alleged Ichinotsubo-Ezzi, who practiced as both a licensed psychologist and “spiritual director,” failed to maintain professional and ethical boundaries when she engaged in a sexual and personal relationship with a patient who has a history of psychological care throughout her teenage and adult life. Ichinotsubo-Ezzi failed to avoid harm to her patient, including relinquishing control of the frame-of-treatment and breaching another patient's confidentiality.
Waiving her rights to a hearing, Ichinotsubo-Ezzi chose to resolve the allegations by agreeing to surrender her license to the Board effective January 2, 2021.
