Essential versus Non-Essential Services

On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-33-20. This Executive Order provided a stay at home order for the citizens of California, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of the federal critical infrastructure sectors. The Executive Order referred to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency, which provides guidance regarding the identification of essential critical infrastructure workers. Please utilize this document when determining whether your business provides essential or non-essential services and whether you should remain open. That document can be found here.

Examination Update:

The State of California is acting quickly to protect public health and safety as it responds to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). The state is mobilizing every level of government to prepare for and respond to the spread of the virus. The Department of Consumer Affairs’ Board of Psychology will follow all guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local public health departments to ensure the safety of our exam candidates. Prior to visiting exam sites, visit the vendor’s websites for updates on any closures or exam date changes:

CPLEE Candidates: In response to the Governor’s order to expand workforce capacity, the test administration window for the California Psychology Laws and Regulations Examination (CPLEE) will be temporarily reopened. PSI will offer exams on Tuesday and Thursday at select number of test sites in California. All sites will follow social distancing guidelines and will only allow 8 candidates per exam site.
